Hello Bend Startup Women,

It’s hard to believe 6 months has passed since the meetup at Bend Tech. Hope summer is treating you well.

There are a couple new resources that have sprung up for female founders and women in tech, that are worthy of breaking radio silence. Please forward to a lady who needs to hear:

Circular Board is a virtual accelerator for women entrepreneurs that builds a foundation for growth by creating clarity of purpose, establishing strategic partnerships, and providing access to capital – the three areas women struggle with most in establishing hyper-growth businesses. We’ve brought together a curated group of the world’s most sought-after mentors, investors who believe in the leadership potential of women, and strategic partners who serve as gateways to accelerated growth. The 12-week experience culminates in Virtual Demo Day, but you’ll be supported long into the future through our Alumni Circles, rotating peer advisory boards who challenge your model, commit to the success of your business, and hold you accountable to achieve your vision. We accept applications for the Circular Board on a rolling basis. To be considered for the cohort launching September 5, 2016, your application must be submitted by 11:59pm on July 31st.

*I (Katie) attended Circular Board’s Summit in April and was amazed by how willing & able these women are to help. They have a network ready to help you with media, fundraising, distribution - you name it. Highly recommend this program. Read their latest article in Inc.

The #BUILTBYGIRLS Challenge is a pitch competition for tech projects built by girls, and will be judged by girls!

  • Girls in the U.S. ages 15-18 with an interest in tech can win the opportunity to pitch a project during a live Pitch Day in San Francisco.

  • If you’re selected as a winner, you’ll get funding and mentorship to take your project to the next level.

  • The judges are five 17-year-old girls who have learned the basics of how to run a start-up and be a VC for 4 weeks over the summer during an apprenticeship with BBG Ventures.

Looking for Diverse Tech Talent? Allison Esposito from Google launched Hire Tech Ladies which has a secret job board of vetted companies, a members only newsletter, and a private facebook group.

WEFestival (WE = Women Entrepreneur) and Women Who Startup both have active Slack Channels that are great for getting quick questions answered, reaching out for help, etc.

Lastly, Oregon Entrepreneur Network now offers a virtual membership for those outside the Portland area. Yearly membership is $60, comes with a concept review with an OEN mentor, free webinars, and member pricing to all other OEN events. They have generously offered a promo for us (email Katie for details).

Now back to your regularly scheduled Bend-ing.
